Excursions

By now, Sharon should have given you information on how to register on the Carnival website. From the site you can find information about the excursions and book.

Brien and I have booked the Chichen Itza Myan Ruins tour in Progreso, Yucatan.  Please join us if you are interested!  It is 74.95 per person and last for the entire port of Progreso.

64 days!!!!

Packing towels?

I just talked to someone who did this cruise and said there is no need to pack beach towels!  The cruise ship will provide towels with a $22 deposit.  You only pay this if you do not return the towels.

That should save us all a little room in our beach bags!

Hotel, Motel, Raddison Inn...

All of our guest will need to be at the Carnival port at 10:00AM on departure day (9/10/11).  They have been very strict with this time and have been clear that no one can be late.  You might want to consider staying in Mobile the night before.  You can do whatever you wish, but if you would like to stay in a hotel I have made a deal with the Admiral Semmes Hotel (The Raddison) for a nights stay and parking!

If you want to park at the Carnival Port, it is $90.00 per vehicle.  The cruise rate package includes parking.

Room Rate (doubles, kings, queens) $89/night - No cruise parking
Cruise Rate (doubles, kings, queens) $133.00 - Includes parking for ONE VEHICLE during entire cruise with shuttle service to cruise and picked up from cruise.  Also includes breakfast, up to $20 per room (if you charge more, you will be billed).

Please call 877-919-0099 for reservations or questions.  Here is the hotel if you would like to take a look!

There are other hotels around the Mobile port that offer the same service, but I went with the best deal I could find.  You are more than welcome to stay anywhere you would like as long as you are at the cruise at 10:00! :)

To Insure or Not To Insure...

If you were thinking of getting the cruise insurance and didn't, its not too late!  You are still able to purchase trip insurance through Sharon, 256-880-9140 ext 3651.

This covers cancellations due to the unknown and unforeseen such as illness, injury or death.  Something of a catostophic nature.

Ages 0-34 would pay $35.00 per person
35-59 would pay $46.00 per person

**I would like to note, I will be mad if any of you decide to have unforeseen illness, injury, or death during our wedding! :)

Dress

I got my dress!  For those who know me well, know I get excited really really easily!  It is very hard for me to have something in mind and not buy it, whether it be a shirt or a car.  I went dress shopping last week and found a dress that I just knew was "the one".  I was so excited and wanted to cancel my other dress appointment I had a few days later, but ultimately decided to go just to be sure.  I am glad I did since I found another dress that was "the one".  This "one" was much more expensive and fancier than I wanted, but was amazing!  I decided to walk around and think about it and then I stumbled on "THE ONE".  I tried it on and the search was over, it was a dress I had in my mind from the beginning and made me say dress who about the others! :)

I can't decide if I am more excited about the cruise or the wedding.  Oh who am I kidding....THE WEDDING! :)  I am getting married!!!!!

To our Drinkers (Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic) :)

Good news, you can bring a bottle of wine or champagne and some bottle waters or sodas if you would like!  See the specifics below, taken from Carnivals webite!

A liquor and beverage consumption policy was created in order for Carnival to be able to control the liquor consumption of minors and the quantities consumed that lead to the disruptive behavior of others on board.

Liquor and Beverage Policy

Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation Day:
Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board. However, at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring on board one bottle (750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, only in their carry-on luggage. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the main dining room; $14 corkage fee per bottle in the steakhouse. (A corkage fee is a charge exacted at a restaurant for every bottle of liquor served that was not bought on the premises)
On embarkation day, guests may bring a small quantity (package of 12 per person) of non-alcoholic beverages onboard, only in their carry-on luggage.

All alcohol/hard liquor/beer (sealed, unopened bottles/cans), wine/champagne over the allowable 1-bottle per guest (sealed, unopened bottles) or excessive quantities of non-alcoholic beverages (over 12 per person, sealed, unopened bottles/cans) will be confiscated and stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained item(s) will be delivered to the guest̢۪s stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Unsealed liquids that are prohibited will be discarded, as well as any unclaimed items left after the voyage, and no compensation will be given in either case.

Passport, Smassport...

Just an FYI...
You do not need your passport to come on the cruise!  They recommend that you do have your passport just in case there is an emergency and you need to fly from Mexico to home.  But it is completely up to you!

    Countdown to 9/10/11!

Ready, Set, Wedding!  Our wedding date is finally set, 9/10/11!  Considering Brien and I are both nerds, I figured the best way to keep in touch with everyone joining us on our adventure is with a blog.  Lets just hope I keep this one up longer than my personal blog. :)

I will be posting any updates about our cruise on this site.  Once we know any information, activities, or group information we will let you know!

The cruise will leave out of Mobile on 9/10/11 and return on 9/15/11 (Saturday - Thursday).  We will be working with a travel agent to arrange payment plans for our guest and will get that information to everyone as soon as I have it!

Oh, and did I mention WAHOOOOO! :)
